How it works
Five stages, each with a job you can name.
Some filters advertise fifteen or twenty layers. Layers are easy to add and easy to count — what matters is which media is doing what. Here is all five, in order, and what each one is actually for.
-
1
PP sediment
Removes Rust, sand and the sediment that comes off old pipes.
-
2
Calcium sulfite
Removes The stage that takes out chlorine. It is the one doing the work your skin notices.
-
3
KDF 55
Removes Copper-zinc alloy. Reduces chlorine that survives stage two, and keeps bacteria from growing inside a warm, wet cartridge.
-
4
Coconut carbon
Removes Odors, organics and the chemical smell that tells you the water is treated.
-
5
Mineral balls
Removes Vitamin C and mineral media as a final pass.
The math
What it costs, per shower, for as long as you keep it
The replacement three-pack costs $60 — more than the filter itself. Left unexplained that looks like a trap, so here it is explained.
11¢
per shower, counting the filter itself
- The filter, once
- $39
- Cartridge life
- 6 months
- Two showers a day, 180 days
- 360 showers
Cartridge life depends on your water and how long you shower. Six months is the figure to confirm before publishing.
5.5¢
per shower — you already own the housing
- Three cartridges
- $60
- That is 18 months of showers
- $20 each
- What the housing costs again
- $0
The three-pack is cheaper than the filter because you are only buying the media. The body stays on your wall for years.

Questions
The five questions that decide this purchase
Will it reduce my water pressure?
You will feel a small drop the first week and stop noticing it. If your pressure is already weak, the honest answer is that this is not the product for you — tell us and we will say so before you order rather than process a return.
Does it fit my shower?
TIf your shower head unscrews, yes. It uses the ½" NPT thread that virtually every US head uses — fixed, handheld or rain. It adds about 3½ inches of length between the wall and the head.
How do I know when to change the cartridge?
Around six months for two people showering daily. The cartridge itself tells you: pull it out and it will be grey-brown instead of white. If the chlorine smell comes back before then, your water is harder than average and it is time.
Will it actually change anything, or is this a shower-head gimmick?
What it does is remove chlorine, which is measurable. Whether your skin notices depends on how much chlorine your city puts in the water — in most of South Florida, enough that people report the difference in the first week. Thirty days to find out, at our risk, is the fairest answer we can give.
Why not a filter with 20 layers?
Layers are the cheapest thing to add to a spec sheet. Ours has five, and we will tell you what each one is made of and what it removes. Ask a 20-layer seller to do the same.
